Vikram University

Vikram University was established in the year 1957. The main campus of the university is located at Madhav Bhavan, Kothi road, Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. The university has been named after the ruler Vikramaditya. The University Schools and Administrative blocks are always connected via satellite. The Ernet connectivity network is initiated by the chancellor for making the University Global. The university has signed MOU with a many international universities which help students to interact with global perspective. The University manages Research Projects & Extension Work on different knowledge streams. The Projects are beneficiated by ISRO, UGC, DRDO, AICTE, DST, MOEFL etc. The university offers higher education in various disciplines of studies i.e. Jyotirvigyan, English, Hindi, Philosophy, Foreign Languages, Sanskrit, Earth science, pharmacy, Statistics, Information Science and Botany, medicine.Facilities: University Computer Center: University established computer center under the UGC sponsorship. It provides data processing services to various departments of University. The center works all the time to meet requirements within in time limits. Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Library: University library as established in the year 1957. It was founded by India's First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Library has 160856 books, 4800 back volumes of Journals. Library also has 1645 Ph.D. Thesis and also publishes 22 bibliographical. University Press: Press was established in the year 1961under the aegis of UGC and State Govt. The press has 5 section namely printing, composing, proof reading, binding and Office. The press also publishes various research journals in science, mathematics and social science. Hostel: University has 4 boys hostels with 348 rooms and a girl hostel with 100 rooms. Rooms are available on single and double sharing basis. There are 2 other hostels for post matric students from SC/ST communities.Satellite Campus: University colleges and administrative block are connected to satellite. The Chancellor Inaugurated the ERNET connectivity to make university global.
