MAT 2024 registration process for May 2024 phase is underway. Last date to register for the MAT exam is May 28, 2024. Candidates interested in appearing for the exam can fill the application online at AIMA MAT website. To fill the MAT form, candidate will have to create a login ID. Those who have appeared for MAT before can use their existing ID to fill the MAT application form again. In the May 2024 phase of MAT, there will be one CBT, one PBT and three IBTs.One IBT has been conducted. The MAT CBT will be held on May 26 and MAT PBT will be heldon June 2, 2024. Registration process and fees for all three modes is same. What is MAT Exam?

Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses at 800+ B-schools in India. The exam is conducted in multiple sessions in four phases – February, May, September and December. It is accepted by over 800 private MBA colleges across India.MAT is considered one of the most student friendly entrance exams there is option to take multiple attempts and whenever one is ready for it.

MAT exam is conducted in offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT) and remote proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT) modes. MAT fees, exam pattern and syllabus for all three modes are same but admit card and exam dates are different. Candidates can take multiple attempts in any mode of their choice. However, they have to register for each session separately. The score of the last MAT test will be taken into consideration for admission.

  • Double Internet Based Test (IBT) or
  • Paper Based Test (PBT) or
  • Computer Based Test (CBT) or
  • Paper Based Test and Internet Based Test (PBT+IBT) or

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

To be able to appear of the MAT exam, aspirants have to fulfill certain academic requirements fixed by the agency as per the government rule. Given below are the eligibility criteria for MAT exam 2024:

  • Candidates should have completed graduation in any discipline or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
  • Final year graduation students awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for MAT 2024.
  • There is no minimum score requirement for MAT. Candidates with passing marks can apply.
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam.

MAT Exam Counselling Process 2024

MAT 2024 counselling process will be conducted by the participating institutes as AIMA does not conduct any counseling process. MAT counselling process will begin once MAT results are announced. The selection process will include Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

The MAT application process is same for all the three exam modes - PBT, CBT and IBT. Candidates can apply for their preferred exam mode and session at the AIMA website. Check below the process to apply for MAT exam:

  • Open AIMA-MAT website in a new browser   mat.aima,in
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number, state, city, test mode and a password
  • Click on 'register' to create a login account
  • In the next page, select preferred test mode (CBT, PBT, IBT) test cities and five B-Schools
  • Make fee payment of INR 2,100 via debit/credit card, net banking or e-wallet 
  • Fill the MAT 2024 exam application form with relevant information
  • Upload a recent passport size photo and scanned signature
  • Fill the remaining fields and click on submit
  • An acknowledgement will be shared in email

MAT Cut Off 2024

MAT cut off is the minimum score required for selection to the group discussion and personal interview round of MBA colleges that accept the exam score for admission. Candidates who meet the MAT cut off, are selected for the admission round. MAT cut offs are usually lower than that of other MBA entrance exams such as CAT, XAT or CMAT. MAT Admit Card 2024

MAT admit cards are released at the official website. In order to download the hall ticket, candidates need to key in the registration number and date of birth on the login page of AIMA-MAT website. Given below are the steps to download the MAT admit card:

  • Open the MAT 2024 website
  • Go to 'download/view'
  • Select ' MAT admit card' from the drop down
  • Enter email ID, password and date of birth
  • Download the MAT 2024 admit card

The admit card will be released for IBTs too. Candidates taking MAT IBT will have to upload/show their admit card for identification process through remote proctoring at the time of exam. The MAT admit card will be issued session wise, i.e. for every session there will be a new admit card.

MAT Exam Day Guidelines 

  • For MAT IBT mode, candidates should arrange a laptop/desktop and check internet connection at least one hour before the exam timing.
  • For MAT IBT mode, candidates should wear formal clothes and keep the admit card and other documents ready for remote verification process.
  • MAT PBT and CBT are conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates have to report to the exam centre by 8:30 AM.
  • Candidates should carry a blue or black ball point pen with them. CBT mode candidates will need it for signing the attendance sheet and PBT mode candidates will need it for filling the OMR sheet as well as sighing the attendance sheet.
  • Phone, calculator, electronic watch or any such item is prohibited at the exam centre hence, candidates must ensure they don't carry any such item on exam day.
  • Digital or photocopy of the MAT admit card will not be considered a valid ID proof so carry the original copy of your admit card.

Also carry below-mentioned documents to the MAT exam centre for PBT and CBT mode exams:

  • Admit card: Two printouts
  • Identity proof: Any of the following documents (in original) - Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Election I-Card, Passport, Driving License and PAN Card
  • Proof of name change (if any): In case you have changed your name, you will be required to carry a document supporting the change of name
  • Caste certificate (if applicable): If you belong to SC/ST/OBC category, you are required to carry caste certificate
