"The School: A Brief Background D.A.V. Public School, Kurukshetra came into existence in a rented Kothi in Sector-13, Urban Estate on 25 January 1987. The admission process for the first session began on 01 February 1987. The school was, however, formally inaugurated on 09 August 1987. In the first year the school had classes from Nursery to VI, a students' strength of 184 and 8 well-qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers. Over the years, the school has risen to phenomenal heights. At present it is a full-fledged Senior Secondary CBSE affiliated school with more than 3008 students, 115 teachers, 100 members of the non-teaching staff on its rolls. The school is being run in two campuses. The Junior Wing, having classes from Pre-Nursery to III standards, is being run in a modern, triple-storey building in Sector - 13. The Senior Wing, with classes from IV standard onwards, is being run in a beautiful building in Sector-3. Both the campuses are aesthetically landscaped providing ideal environment for studies. The school takes pride in the fact that it has the most beautiful and the most modern building of the town, comparable to the best of Haryana. Students are provided a neat, clean, hygienic and serene environment for studies. The lush green lawns with flowers all around fill the heart with pleasure.
