Dr.Balasaheb Sawant KonkanKrishi Vidyapeeth Dapoli was formerly known as SawantKonkanKrishiVidyapeeth but was named after Dr. Balasaheb on 12th Feb 2001. It was started by the Government of Maharashtra on 18th May 1972. It is actively involved in conducting Research work on location specific fertility problems and to improve crop production technologies. Its primary objective was to fulfill the Educational & Research needs of the Konkan region. 19 colleges running 1550 UG & PG programs in Ratnagiri Sindhudurg and Raigad comes under its jurisdiction It is recognized under the University Grants Commission (UGC)
