Institute of Chemical Technology

The Institute of Chemical Technology was set up by the Department of Chemical Technology on the 1st of October 1933. The Institute is providing for the best facilities and has been imparting the best of education since its inception. It is located at Nathalal Parekh Marg Matunga Mumbai Maharashtra. The Institute came under Section-3 of UGC Act-1956 with Maharashtra Government?s Elite Status and Center of Excellence. The Institute was very popularly called as UDCT Mumbai. It is famous for its research and since its inception it has given 500 and more 1st generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT prospered in all the aspects and thus rose to become an Institute on the 26th of January 2002. It got full autonomy in the month of June 2004 under the aegis of the World Bank TEQIP program and the Government of Maharashtra. The Institute was granted ?Deemed Status? by the MHRD because of the proposal of the University of Mumbai and the Government of Maharashtra on 12th of September 2008. The MHRD had evaluated all deemed universities in 2009 and granted ?A? grade only to 38 universities among 135. The ICT is rated with ?A? grade.
