Gujarat as a STATE has always been a model of development owing to its great number of engineering colleges and other universities producing experts and professionals. The Indian Institute of Technology in the capital is an example of the glorious reputation of Gujarat in the field of higher education. The institute came into existence in the year 2008. The institute is situated in Chandkheda which is not too far from Gandhinagar as also from Ahmadabad Established quite recently in the year 2008 the institute has made prominent mark in the field of technological and engineering education. At present the institute offers courses such as B. Tech and M. Tech in various disciplines and also focuses on social science and humanities programs as well. The present campus of the institute is housed at the Vishwakarma Government Engineering College in Chandkheda however the new campus at Gandhinagar is nearing completion Research works are highly encouraged in the institute as it realizes the importance of extensive research in various fields for the ideal development of a nation Ph. D degrees are awarded to the students in disciplines like Civil Chemical Mechanical Engineering Computer Science and Management etc The programs offered at the IIT have also been given the approval by the 5 providing authentication to its courses.
