Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences And Technology of Kashmir

SHER-E-KASHMIR UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY OF KASHMIR (SKUAST-K) SRINAGAR came into existence after bifurcating Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) by the amendment of 1998-99. It was established after a great patriotic leader Jenab Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah through the act passed in the STATE legislature. It aims to impart education in agriculture and other branches. Its objectives are advancement of learning and prosecution of research in agriculture animal husbandry and particular focus on cold and temperate desert agriculture. It uses the innovative technologies for the benefit of rural people in the STATE. The parent SKUAST was formed by an act of STATE Legislature in 1982. The University is funded by STATE Govt. & ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). It is headquartered at Shalimar Srinagar.
