NEET PG 2024 registration started online on April 16, 2024. The last date to submit NEET PG 2024 application form is May 6, 2024. NEET PG 2024 exam date was preponed earlier from July 7 to June 23, 2024. The revised exam date was announced following a meeting held among various stakeholders including National Board of Examinations (NBE), Post Graduate Medical Education Board, Directorate General of Health Science, National Testing Agency (NTA) etc. Candidates must note the internship deadline remains unchanged, i.e August 15, 2024. NBE will announce result by July 15, 2024
Earlier, NBE reduced exam fee for NEET PG 2024 for all categories. The fee has been reduced by INR 750. Earlier, candidates of general category had to pay INR 4,250 as exam fee. NEET PG 2024 date along with other crucial details for the exam including application process, eligibility criteria, pattern etc will be released along with the official information brochure.
NEET PG 2024 application form has been released on April 16, 2024. Candidates have to register online to access and submit application for the exam. NEET PG 2024 registration can be done at nbe.edu.in once NBE will activate the link. Candidates must note NBE will accept only online application form for NEET PG 2024. Offline or any other mode of applications will not be accepted for the exam.
NEET PG 2024 application form process involves registration, filling details in the application form, uploading documents, paying application fee and choosing exam centre. For registration, candidates should have a valid email ID and mobile number. After successful registration, a login ID and password is generated. NBE will issue admit card to candidates who apply successfully and fulfill all other eligibility criteria. NEET PG 2024 admit card will be released online and candidates will have to download it with login credentials.
What is NEET PG ?
NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation), is conducted for providing admission to various MD (doctor of medicine) MS (Master of surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the exam once a year in computer-based mode. The scores are also used for taking admission to postgraduate MBBS DNB courses. The exam is conducted for 13,649 MS seats, 26,168 MD seats, and 922 PG Diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India.

NEET PG 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to apply for the exam or who wish to participate in the counselling process must check the eligibility criteria before applying for it. NBE releases NEET PG eligibility criteria along with the information brochure. NEET PG eligibility criteria have been summarised below:
- Aspirants must possess an MBBS degree/provisional Pass Certificate which is recognised as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956
- They should also possess a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council
- They must have completed the duration of their internship on or before August 15, 2024
NEET PG Pattern 2024
Along with the syllabys for NEET PG, candidates need to have an idea about exam patern as well. The exam pattern provides an insight about the test paper thereby candidates able to plan in advance. NEET PG Counselling 2024
Using the cut off for NEET PG 2024, NBE will release NEET PG merit list 2024 containing merit rank. On the basis of merit rank, candidates will be called for NEET PG 2024 counselling for admission to 50% AIQ seats, 100% seats in deemed/central universities and ESIC/AFMS institutes.
To appear for the counselling of NEET PG 2024, aspirants need to register themselves using personal, contact and other details. While registering, aspirants have to provide their preferences of colleges as well as courses, in which they wish to get admission. Based on these preferences, All India Rank, seats available, reservation criteria, and other factors, the admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses will be done.
Online Registration for Counselling
Aspirants are required to register themselves on the official website of MCC and fill the application form to participate in the NEET PG 2024 counselling. Only those candidates who will register on the official website of MCC will be able to participate in the NEET 2024 counselling. Qualifying NEET PG 2024 is compulsory for participating in the counselling. The application/registration process for counselling involves the following steps:
- Creating a profile on the official website of MCC
- Completing the application form of NEET PG 2024 counselling
- Uploading the required documents
- Depositing the application fee for counselling (credit card/ debit card/ net banking)
- Choice filling and locking
- Printing a copy of the duly filled application form
NEET PG Reservation: The Revised Criteria
In 2021, Centre had approved 27 and 10 per cent NEET PG reservations for OBC and EWS candidates respectively in 50 per cent All India Quota seats. Candidates who belong to the OBC category (non-creamy layer) as per the Central OBC list, will compete for 50 per cent seats in government medical and dental colleges across the country via AIQ. Candidates don't need the domicile of any particular state for admission to 50 per cent AIQ seats. Similarly, those who belong to EWS (Economic Weaker Section) will be eligible for 10 per cent quota in NEET PG admission. Candidates of both categories need to produce the relevant documents at the time of admission. For candidates of SC and ST categories, there is already a reservation of 15 and 7.5 per cent respectively in NEET PG admission.

NEET PG 2024 photo specification
The NBE has released the guidelines to upload scanned NEET PG images of photo, signature, and left-hand thumb impression in the NEET PG application form 2024. Candidates can check the NEET PG image upload instructions, formats, documents required availabe in the NEET PG information bulletin. Check the NEET PG specifications below.
- The NEET PG photo size dimension must be 3.5X4.5 cm.
- For the signature, the file size should be between 6X3 cm.
- The left-hand thumb impression size must be around 4X3 cm.
Steps to fill NEET PG 2024 application form?
Below is the step-by-step guide on filling out the NEET PG 2024 application form for the candidate’s reference. Medical graduates will be able to complete the application form in six steps.
Step 1: Online registration for NEET PG 2024
To register for NEET PG 2024, candidates will have to click on the link provided on this page. Candidates will be redirected to a new window where they will have to click on NEET PG 2024 registration. An instruction page will appear on the screen. After reading the guidelines carefully, candidates will have to click on the ‘Proceed’ button to move further. The next page will display the flowchart and details for online submission of the application form of NEET PG 2024. Click on ‘proceed’ for new registration.

Once the registration details are complete, candidates will either have to click on the ‘save and proceed’ button or the ‘save and exit button’ in case they wish to complete the application form later.
NEET PG candidate ID generation: If a candidate selects the ‘save and proceed’ option, the candidate ID is generated and is sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of the applicant. Also, candidates will have to change their password for security purposes.
NEET PG login page: Once the password is changed, candidates will be directed to NEET PG login window. By entering the candidate ID, password and provided captcha code, candidates will have to log into the portal. Candidates can check the image of the candidate login below.
Step 2: Filling of NEET PG application form 2024
On successful login, the registered details in NEET PG 2024 application form will appear on the screen. Candidates wishing to edit or update the details can do the same by clicking on ‘edit’ button. Else, they can click on ‘proceed’ to complete the remaining NEET PG application process.
Candidates will have to enter the below mentioned details in the NEET PG 2024 application form.
- Personal details: Name, date of birth, gender, nationality, etc.
- Qualification details: Qualifying exam (MBBS), exam status, state, university details, state of Class 10 and 12
- Academic details: Total marks secured in MBBS exam
- Internship details: status of internship (completed/undergoing), start and completed date of the internship, total days of internship
- Medical registration details: Registration type (permanent or provisional), registration date and number, issuance authority
Once all the details are entered, candidates must verify and then click on ‘save and proceed’ to move for the next step.
Step 3: Selection of NEET PG exam centre
Moving further in the application form process, applicants will have to choose the preferred city/location where they want to take the exam. Selecting the NEET PG exam centre 2024, candidates can check the availability of seats in different cities. The selection of the NEET PG 2024 exam city is done based on first come first serve. The authority will release a list of NEET PG 2024 exam centres along with the information brochure.
Note: Candidates must note that the NEET PG exam city will be confirmed only after the successful payment of application fee. Once the application fee is paid the final NEET PG exam city will appear on the screen with the availability of a seat. Applicants will have to click on the ‘select’ option for confirmation of the exam centre.
Step 4: Uploading scanned images in NEET PG application form 2024
After selecting the exam city, candidates will have to upload the scanned images of their passport size photograph, signature and left-thumb impression, as per the specifications set by the authority. Once the passport size photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression are uploaded, a confirmation message will be displayed on the screen. Medical graduates will have to click on the ‘accept’ button to redirect to the new page.

Step 5: NEET PG application fee 2024 payment
Before choosing the preferred exam city, candidates will have to click on the option of online payment for submitting the NEET PG 2024 form. The application fee of NEET PG 2024 can be paid in online mode through credit/debit cards or net banking. Once the payment is done, a new page indicating the payment details will appear on the screen and the payment receipt will be generated. Candidates can either click on ‘print’ to get a copy of it or proceed to the next step.

Step 6: Take printout of the complete NEET PG application form 2024
Once all the steps are done, the filled application form of NEET PG 2024 will be displayed on the screen. Candidates must print the application form and preserve it for future reference.
NEET PG 2024 application form correction window
NBE will allow the candidates to edit/rectify their application forms by opening the NEET PG 2024 correction window However, applicants will be able to edit only a few details. Therefore, candidates should use the opportunity to correct the filled details in the application form as the details mentioned in the application form will be later verified at the time of counselling and joining the designated college/institute. NEET PG Cutoff 2024 - Tie-breaker
In case two or more candidates secure equal marks in the NEET PG 2024 merit list, NBE uses NEET MD/MS tie-breaking process as mentioned below.
- Greater number of correct responses - Candidates with a greater number of correct responses will be placed higher in NEET PG merit list
- Lesser number of negative responses - If the tie still exists, Aspirants with less number of negative answers will be allotted better rank
- Age - If the tie exists, the older candidate will be given first preference
- Higher aggregate marks in MBBS - Candidates securing higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS professional examinations will be considered first in NEET PG merit list 2024.
NEET PG seat matrix 2024 categorisation
The seats in NEET PG are categorised into 4 parts which are as follows:
- All India Quota seat matrix (AIQ)
- Deemed universities seat matrix
- DNB seat matrix
- Central internal seat matrix
NEET PG (AIQ) seat matrix includes 50% seats granted through the counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Deemed universities seat matrix includes management quota seats. The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidates, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions.
- The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website (https://neet.nta.nic.in/) and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on the Date and timing as indicated in their Admit Card.
- No candidate will be allowed to appear at the Examination Centre, on the Date and Timing other than that allotted to him/her in his / her Admit Card.
- In case a candidate is unable to download his/ her Admit Cards from the website, he or she may approach the Help Line between 10:00 am to 05.00 pm or write an email to NTA at neet@nta.ac.in.
- The candidates are advised to read the instructions given in this Information Bulletin as well as on the Admit Card carefully and follow them scrupulously during the conduct of the examination.
- In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the Help Line between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. In such cases, candidates would appear in the Examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later
