Important Information
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting CUET 2024 in a hybrid mode (CBT and Pen & Paper) on 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, and 24 May 2024. The examination is being held at various CUET exam centres across 379 cities, including 26 cities outside India, catering to approximately 13.48 lakh candidates.
However, due to logistical constraints, some candidates were assigned CUET 2024 exam centre outside Silchar for the Bengali (104) and Environmental Studies (307) test papers scheduled on May 24, 2024. Following representations from these candidates requesting a change of examination center to Silchar, the NTA has made the following adjustments to support the student community:

Candidates who initially opted for Silchar as their CUET exam centre 2024 but were assigned a different city due to logistical issues are advised not to travel outside Silchar. Fresh CUET 2024 admit cards will be issued soon on the official website: exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/
CUET 2024 Important Information for Assam Candidates
- Candidates who opted for Silchar but received admit cards for another city can appear for their exams in Silchar on the rescheduled date.
- Candidates who have already travelled to their assigned examination city can proceed with their exams in CBT mode on 24 May 2024 as per their admit card.
- All affected candidates are encouraged to utilize this opportunity to ensure they can sit for their exams. For further details, candidates can contact the NTA at 011 - 40759000 / 011 - 69227700 or email cuet-ug@nta.ac.in.
CUET 2024: National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed CUET UG 2024 exam for May 15 to May 29, 2024 for Delhi centres only. NTA released the CUET admit card 2024 for May 15 to May 18, 2024 at cuetug.ntaonline.in. Registered candidates can download the CUET 2024 hall ticket online. Exam is being held from May 15 to May 24, 2024 in hybrid mode. The mode of examination has been decided on the number of applicants for each CUET subjects. The exam is being held in pen and paper mode for subjects receiving more than 1.5 lakh registrations. CUET UG 2024 received 13.4 lakh applicants. Maximum number of applicants have been received for the English subject (10 lakh candidates) followed by General test (8.34 lakh candidates).
CUET serves as the gateway to UG programs across more than 250 universities in India, establishing itself as one of the largest UG entrance events. The top universities in which scores are accepted for admission include Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Milia Islamia and so forth. CUET 2024 cut off will be released in the form of a rank list by each participating university or college.

CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test which is conducted by NTA. CUET exam 2024 is an entrance examination for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in 44 central universities and many other universities.

CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the CUET eligibility criteria set by NTA to apply and appear for the biggest UG entrance exam. The eligibility parameters are as follows:
CUET Basic Eligibility and Educational Qualification
- Students should have passed Class 12 from a recognised board in Science or a relevant stream to be admitted to bachelor’s degree programs in the Central Universities.
- Students in Class 12 who are yet to appear for the Board exam were also eligible to apply.
CUET Age Limit
There is no age limit for appearing in the CUET 2024 exam. However, the candidates will be required to fulfil the age criteria (if any) of the University/Institution/Organization in which they are willing to take admission.
CUET Nationality Criteria
To get eligible for the CUET Exam, aspirants must abide by the following citizenship rules:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- A constituent subject of Nepal, Bhutan
- A Tibetan refugee who landed in India before 1 January 1962 to make India their permanent home and reside there permanently.
- Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians, and people from Vietnam who permanently moved to India.
CUET 2024 Marking Scheme
The total marks of the CUET exam vary based on the subjects chosen and the slot allotted to the candidate. The CUET 2024 marking scheme as per NTA is as follows:
- For every correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
- For any incorrect option marked will be deducted: one mark (-1)
- Unanswered/Marked for Review will receive no mark (0).
- If more than one option is found correct, Five marks (+5) will be awarded to those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If all options are found correct, Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
- If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will receive five marks (+5) marks.
CUET 2024 Counselling
The CUET 2024 counselling process will be conducted by the participating institutes separately. Each institute will release its merit list based on qualifying candidates after the declaration of the result. Interested candidates will have to register and then participate in the CUET counselling process, which will be held online. In general, there are three rounds of counseling and the number of rounds may vary depending on the seat vacancy. After the seat allotment result is declared, candidates will have to accept the admission offer by reporting to the institutes and getting their documents verified. There are a few programmes, where instead of counselling, interview rounds will be conducted. NTA will intimate the admission process for those programmes separately in the information brochure of CUET 2024.

CUET 2024 Registration
The CUET application form 2024 will be released in second week of February 2024. Candidates will have to fill CUET exam application form in online mode on the official website of the exam. The first step is to register by entering the basic details such as name, address, and contact details. This generates login credentials. After logging in with the registration credentials, candidates will have to fill the CUET 2024 application form with their personal and academic details, programme and exam city preference, and upload documents. After the form is filled, candidates will have to pay the CUET application fee online via debit/credit card, Net Banking, Paytm, and UPI. The table below shows the CUET form fees 2024

The CUET 2024 exam consists of multiple-choice questions and the candidates must choose the correct or most appropriate answer from the options provided. If any discrepancy is found after the key verification process, the following rules will be applied:
- Correct answer or most appropriate answer: +5 marks

CUET is an all-India entrance exam that is highly competitive and candidates appearing for the exam need to have a strategy and aim to score well and qualify. Aspirants can go through the following prep strategy methods while preparing for CUET.

Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in
accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India.
However, in the case of the Central Universities, the reservation policy of the respective University shall be applicable.
For Candidates claiming to the GEN-EWS category
GEN-EWS certificate (Annexure-IA) needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET (UG) - 2023 which should have been issued on or after 01 April 2022 in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS certificate (issued on or after 01 April 2022) at the time of online registration, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of Gen-EWS Certificate at Annexure-IB] to that effect (Reference: No.F.No.20013/01/2018-BC-II).
For Candidates claiming to the OBC-NCL category
OBC-NCL certificate (Annexure-IIA) needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET (UG) - 2023 which should have been issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
If any OBC-NCL candidate fails to upload the OBC- NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April 2022) at the time of online registration, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of OBC-NCL Certificate as per Annexure-IIB] to that effect. For Candidates claiming to the SC or ST category
Caste (for SC) or tribe (for ST) certificate (Annexure-III) needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET UG - 2023, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India.
Provisions relating to Persons with Disability (PwD)
(a) Guidelines for conducting written examination for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities above 40% vide letter dated 29 August 2018 from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Provisions relating to Persons with Disability (PwD): As per Section 2(t) of the RPwD Act, “Persons with Disability (PwD)” means a person with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment which, in interaction with barriers, hinders his full and effective participation in society equally with others. According to Section 2(r) of the RPwD Act, 2016, “persons with benchmark disabilities” means a person with not less than forty percent (40%) of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority |
CUET 2024 Admit card
Candidates who have fulfilled CUET 2024 eligibility criteria and paid the application fee will be issued a provisional e-Admit Card through the NTA website. The Admit Card must be downloaded by the candidate and brought to the exam hall to appear in the exam at the assigned centre on the given date and shift/timing mentioned in the card. No candidate will be allowed to appear on any other date or shift/time other than the one mentioned in their admit card.
To download CUET 2024 admit card, candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Visit the official website of CUET 2024, cuet.samarth.edu.in
- Click on the Admit Card link.
- Enter your login credentials such as application number, password, and security pin.
- Click on the "Submit" button.
- Your CUET 2024 Admit card will be displayed on the screen.
- Check all the details mentioned on the Admit card carefully.
Download and take a printout of the admit card for future reference
