Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC CPO SI exam for recruitment of candidates for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub Inspector in CAPFs, and Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF. SSC CPO SI recruitment exam is conducted in two stages – computer-based examination and PET. The computer-based examination or CBE is divided into two papers – Paper 1 and 2. Candidates qualifying for paper 1 will be eligible to appear in PET/PST. 

On the basis of their performance in PET/PST, candidates will be shortlisted for Paper 2. Both Papers 1 and 2 comprise of 200 marks and candidates will be given two hours to complete each paper. SSC will release a final result on the basis of marks secured in Paper 1 and 2 subject to qualifying PET/PST. Candidates will be recruited for the posts available, as mentioned in the notification, based on the final result.

The eligibility criteria of SSC CPO has been provided below.

Nationality : Candidates must be a citizens of India

Age Limit : Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years of age

Educational Qualification : Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university

SSC CPO Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India,
  • A subject of Nepal,
  • A subject of Bhutan,
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.
  • A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO Education Qualification 

  • Educational Qualification for all posts is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
  • The programs in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Physiotherapy, etc are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.
  • Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification will not be eligible and need not apply.
  • For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) - Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
