The Bachelor of Science (Vegetable Science) is an Undergraduate Degree Course of 4 Years (08 Semester) Duration. The General Educational Eligibility for entering this course is Higher Secondary (10+2) from any Recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics / Biology as Compulsory Subjects. This Course is about the Science & Art of Cultivating Plants that are eaten as Food by the Human Beings, Whole or in parts. This course offers the knowledge of Fundamentals of Horticulture, Botany of Horticultural Plants, Principles of Analytical Chemistry, Agricultural Microbiology, Production Technology of Vegetable Crops, Crop Physiology, Agricultural Meteorology, Agricultural Economics, Weed & Water Management and Soil Science. The other contents that are offered during the course study include Seed Production, Plant Pathology, Applied Microbiology, Biotechnology, Sericulture Technology, Soil & Water Conservation, Pest Management, Plant Breeding, Waste Management, Processing, Storage & Marketing of Agri-product, etc. with variability of the Institution offering the Course.
