For any machine and related process, Tools are the basic components. The standards and productivity of any machine related operation depends on the quality of tools which is directly proportional to the material, shape and size. Proper training in machine tools can improve the efficiency and quality of related processes. Machine performance may further be improved by appropriate and speedy mounting of tools and jobs on related machines. This course further attempts to strengthen abilities in trainees and students to make them better at machining operation and give them ample opportunities to work on their own projects so that novel ideas can be generated on this field. The program also deals with design of cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and other artifacts required in machine operations. After completing this program, students find jobs in manufacturing units, private organizations and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) like BHEL, ONGC, IOC, NHPC, NTPC etc. They can further go into research and do a PhD in related subjects.
