The Doctor of Philosophy (Agronomy) is a Doctorate Degree Course. The General Educational Eligibility for entering this course is Master Degree in the relevant Branch of Agricultural Sciences /Agronomy. The Course is offered with a Minimum Duration of 3 Years (06 Semester). The Tenure of the Course comprises of Course Work (Theoretical) for 06/12 Months & the Research Activity thereafter. During the Course work, the Advanced Scientific Study about the Crop Field Production, Plant Breeding, Environmental Resource Management, Pest Control, Soil Science, Modern Concepts of Food Production and Cropping Systems is offered. The Research Activity includes the Crop Physiology, Crop Science, Genetics of Plants & Animals, Pest & Insect Management, Crop Planning, Improvement in Food’s Nutritional Value, Soil & Plant Analysis, Principles of Soil Fertility & Nutrient Management, Land Degradation & Restoration etc. with variability of the Institution offering the Course.
