The National Defence Academy (NDA): It is the joint defense service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces. Cadets of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force are trained together before they go on to service academy for further pre-commission training. It is a premier military academy in India. NDA is situated in various places in India like Khadakwasla, Pune, and Maharashtra. It is the first tri-service academy in the world which is a great achievement of this academy. National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA EXAM):
It is one of the most prestigious examinations in India. It is a highly competitive exam that selects candidates for the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The personality test is managed by the Services Selection Board (SSB). Several students practice hard and give their best to clear the examination. This exam opens doors for admission to the National Defence Academy. This exam is held twice a year usually in April and September. Every year, more than six lakh candidates appear for this exam but out of them around seven thousand students clear the written exam and get selected for the final test. To pass the exam, students must have discipline in their lives and work hard to fulfill their dreams. However, the final stage is achieved by a few candidates who have immense knowledge and great skills that are required in this exam. The candidates who can clear the exam are considered to be among the best and brightest in the country.
EXAM SYLLABUS:
This exam usually consists of two stages: A written exam and a personality test A. The written exam contains two papers Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). The Mathematics paper is for checking the candidate's knowledge regarding mathematics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry and the GAT paper tests their knowledge basically of English, history, geography, science, and current events. The SSB interview is a comprehensive assessment. It includes student personality, intelligence, and potential to become an officer in the Indian Armed Forces.
ELIGIBILITY:
It is open to unmarried male and female candidates who are citizens of India. Candidates who are between the age group of 16.5 years and 19.5 years can apply for this exam. Students must have passed the 12th class examination from a recognized board and candidates who are appearing for the 12th class examination can appear for this exam.
EXAM MODE:
The test is conducted in two phases in offline mode (pen-paper exam). First is the written Examination, and the second one is the Interview. The maximum marks students can get in the written examination will be 900 marks (300 for mathematics and 600 for general ability tests) and the total marks for the SSB interview will be 900 marks.
DURATION:
The written exam and interview both have different durations. The written exam is of 5 hours whereas the SSB interview is quite longer because of multi-tests and it takes around four to five days.
