DAV Public Sr. Sec. School Kotkapura, A sapling planted in the year 1983 has now grown up into a well nourished plant. The school is under the direct control of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi & The Local Managing Committee under the chairmanship of Sh. Surinder Sachdeva. It has gracefully completed its 31 years. School is well-known not only for its scholastic & Co-scholastic achievements but also for imparting quality education to youth. The main aim of school is to build sound & perfect personalities so that young scholars are not only academically strong but also strive to serve society selflessly. It is well known for its excellent results in the town. The school has bagged an award of excellence three times consecutively for being the best in the region by Govt. of Punjab. School is proud owner of quality infrastructure, well-equipped smart classes, science, mathematics, computer labs, library & best arrangements for indoor and outdoor sports. The school was started in a rented building with a strength of 100 students. It's a matter of proud that the institution is continuously growing. Now it has a beautiful campus with a strength of 1750 students. The industrious principal, dedicated staff and Co-operative parents along with the blessings of almighty God are the pillars of its strength. The principal Mrs. Veena Sharma was the founder principal of the school in 1983. After her Mrs. Kiran Verma joined in 1985 And devoted the precious span of her life and got retirement in 2011. By taking the charge in 2011 principal Miss. Meena Mehta is trying hard to maintain /raise quality standard of the school. The school is giving excellent board results. CGPA of the school is always comparable with the national CGPA.
