The ITI fitter course is meant to be for aspirants who want to become competent fitters. Fitters lay down, assemble fit, and fabricate metal units into fine structural forms, e.g. machinery frames, bridge parts, vessels. Knowledge of welding techniques is required for this purpose. The trainees can find work in different units of industry as semi-skilled fitter, e.g. pipe fitting, drilling, welding, Inspection and observing safety precautions. The trainees can further improve their skill set on assembling and disassembling various valves, repairing machinery, handling different type of Fire extinguishers. Pass outs can work in numerous industries like Production and Manufacturing, structural Fabrication (e.g. bridge and roof structures), automobile, ship building and government Public Sector Industries e.g. BHEL, ONGC, NHPC, BEML, NTPC, Coal India etc.
