B.Tech. (Production and Industrial Engineering)Bachelor of Technology in Production and Industrial Engineering
Industrial engineering is the discipline of engineering that is concerned with the refinement of complex systems and subsystems, processes and organizations. Industrial engineers operate so that different parameters are optimally saved and can be utilized efficiently. The parameters include time, financial assets, stock, working hours, energy and many other resources. In a nutshell, they find ways to make things, systems and processes better for increased quality and productivity. Production engineering on the other hand is a fusion of manufacturing technology, general engineering and science with aspects of management. A production engineer generally has a wide scope in terms of engineering practices and is involved in the management decisions related to production. The BTech program in Production and Industrial engineering teaches and trains students in variety of subjects like mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, machine design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, strength of materials, tool design, project and operations management and specialized courses like Machine Element Design, Control Theory and Applications, Engineering Drawing, Total Quality Management and more. The course curriculum is designed in a way so that developing needs of the industry are met. The specialized laboratories allow hands on training for learners. The main objective of this program is to prepare world class and adept professionals with need based technical knowledge. This allows them to take important positions in different areas like manufacturing units, power sector, automotive sector, academia etc.
