M.Com. (Finance & Computer Applications)Master of Commerce in Finance & Computer Applications
The M.com in finance and computer applications is a postgraduate taught program which combines two separate study fields into a fine blend of career focused program. This is a two years course that teaches students design methods and development process of computer/software applications. The software developed as a result is used chiefly in accounting related software, i.e. the softwares which automate the process of accounting and business financial transactions. This course came into being when banking sector started its move towards a digital transaction sector, with emphasis on using less paper for transactions. While in house training was provided for existing employees, a need for a specialized course in finance and accounting was called for. This course perfectly fits the bill in this respect. This program empowers the candidates to become adept at e-commerce transactions and ERP's. In addition, they learn how to create and maintain other banking related software similar to Finacle, BANCS AND Flex Cube. The next step for most MCom graduates is to find a job in the financial sector, an activity which gets rewarded very soon in their careers. Others try for advanced postgraduate programs in financial analysis and research.
