The Government of Maharashtra bestowed upon Saraswati Education Society,the public charitable trust to start an engineering college in the year 2003. Thus, came up YadavraoTasgaonkar Institute of Engineering& Technology, at Bhivpuri Road Station, Karjat, Dist. Raigad on 22nd June 2005, a highly commendable private institute, occupies a place of pride amongst the premier technical institutes of the Raigad district zone, it is financed and run by the Saraswati Education Society. It is affiliated to Mumbai University. Within one decade, the institute marched towards the pinnacle of glory through its remarkable achievements and laurels in the field of engineering education of a high calibre. The campus boasts of lush green lawns that provide an ambience and a serene atmosphere of ancient Gurukuls far from the madding crowd. It has got 70 acres of land. The management committed itself for the growth of the college seeking advices and support from intellectuals, administrators and experts from various fields. This saw the college grows by leaps and bounds adding feathers to it cap in the form of new engineering courses including Post Graduates Courses and awards of recognition and approval from various regulatory authorities. What we see today is the pious and sincere efforts of all stakeholders during the last 12 year's journey of this college under the able stewardship of Honourable Dr. Nandkumar Y. Tasgaonkar.
