The Institute is located amidst beautiful and scenic surroundings of Worli Seaface It started functioning in 1981 as a Post Graduate Diploma awarding Institute In 1983, the Institute was recognized for a Post BSc three-year degree programme, in Technology, leading to BSc(Tech) Br viii Degree course of Mumbai University in the following disciplines : (a) Electronics Engineering (Including Industrial Electronics) (b) Computer Technology (Hardware & Software) (c) Electronics Instrumentation (Including Biomedical Instrumentation) The programme received permanent AICTE recognition in the same year The institute is also recognized by Institution of Engineers (India) The first batch of students graduated in 1986 The Institute switched over to the four ? year BE Degree Course in Engineering from the year 2002-03 with the approval of the Government of Maharashtra, with the affiliation of University of Mumbai and with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The Institute lays huge emphasis on inculcating conceptual and analytical skills in students leading to deeper appreciation of technology It believes in molding students in such a form that they are able to contribute to the rapidly changing fields of modern technology through education, research and professional practices Considering the dynamics of the field, the challenge is to keep abreast with the trends emerging in the field of technology However, with the help of experienced faculty, sophisticated laboratories equipped with latest and necessary instruments and a library up-to-date with books, technical magazines and science journals, it no more remains a challenge
