VIVA Institute of Management Studies

With a noble aim to promote higher education in Virar and its adjoining rural and adivasi backward areas, with a population of more than 12 Lakh , the Late Shri. Vishnu Waman Thakur Charitable Trust started the Utkarsha Vidyalaya in 1989, and the Junior College was established in the year 1991, approved by Maharashtra Board. The aim of the Trust is to develop the college into a leading Centre of Education in this Region. As part of this vision, the Trust today offers graduate and post graduate courses across the main streams of Arts, Commerce, Hotel Management, IT, Science, Architecture, Applied Art & Craft, MCA and Management. The Trust started the Institute of Management Studies, under the name VIVA Institute of Management Studies (VIVA IMS) in 2004, awarding Masters in Management Studies (MMS), a post graduate degree affiliated to Mumbai University and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. VIVA IMS is located in a beautiful pollution free environment of Shirgaon, Virar (East) a few minutes away from Virar Railway Station on Western Railway and close to Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway. Since its inception the Institute has made phenomenal progress. ? One of the students of the first MMS batch of 2004-2006 secured Third Rank in Mumbai University Examination. ?
