Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) program at UPES, gives the students the flexibility to work in multi – disciplinary environments. The course will teach you to address contemporary issues in an independent and creative way, in order to participate in a most stimulating and gratifying career. The emphasis is on the fundamentals of the following domains Industrial Design Industrial Design is a process to create new products which are to satisfy the needs of the masses as well as for the specific needs of any particular group of users. The process deals with understanding the needs of the users, create concept sketches, understand the material, texture colour requirements, create mock-up and 3D models to execute the idea into making of a tangible product. The course at SoDS aims at creating designers who have a strong thought process and deep thinking regarding the subject.Application Industrial Design ranges from designing kitchen products, table-top products, electronic products, bio-medical products to jigs & fixtures for spatial design / applications, furniture systems etc. Career Pathways- Design of FMCG Products, Machines, Lighting systems, Bio-Medical Products, Industrial Products, Packaging, Lifestyle products & Accessory Design, Electronic Products & Appliances, Space / Ambiance / Exhibitions Design, Furniture Design, Design Research, etc.
