With the noble intention of bringing enlightenment & empowerment to the people through education, E.S. Educational Charities was established by the esteemed Industrialist, Philanthropist and President of Tamil Nadu Inland Fisherman Association Shri. E. Swamikannu in the year 1983. The E. S. Educational Charities has carved for itself a name in the field of education in Villupuram district and has been rendering commendable service for more than two decades. Owing to the untiring efforts of the visionary management and the unstinted support of the parents and students resulted in establishment of 10 institutions under the ES banner. Thievanai Ammal College for Women founded in 1989, was honoured by NAAC with A grade accreditation and UGC conferment of Autonomy. The college adopts Choice Based Credit System with focus on academic excellence ,vocational skill development, value orientation and sensitisation for community development for the purpose of producing women leaders. Within two decades the college has developed as the leading self financing college in Villupuram district in terms of student strength, number of academic programmes and faculty strength. The college has a good track record in extra- curricular activities like NSS, Cultural activities and Sports. The college aims for Global Quality Education, at affordable cost through creating rapport with foreign Universities in Singapore , Hongkong & USA.
