Thangal Kunju Musaliar College of Engineering

The TKM College Trust was founded in 1956 by Late Janab Thangal Kunju Musaliar, which marked an epoch making event in the educational history of Kerala in general and the Travancore area in particular. Thangal Kunju Musaliar was a great visionary, educationist, reformer, industrialist and above all a philanthropist who walked ahead of his time. His dogged perseverance and hard work coupled with his strength of character helped him rose to the pinnacle of fame from the humble beginnings. He became the doyen of cashew industry and thereby started the empowerment of workers especially women folk as he had employed large number of women employees in his cashew factories and he was considered to be the largest single employer in the world as indicated in the US Business Magazine FORTUNE.
