Swami Ganga Giri Janta Girls College

Swami Ganga Giri Janta Girls College, Raekot ,a peer educational institution was established on May 23, 1973. Swami Ganga Giri ji, Udari, was a saintly character, who was deeply impressed by the Arya Samaj and its founder, Swami Dayanand ji. Shradhanand ji laid stress on girl education and worked sternly for it. Swami Ganga Giri ji came to Raekot from village Chaundannear, Amargarh Distt. Sangrur. Swamiji bought a piece of land, and started leading a saintly life here. Before the establishment of College, the place was renowned as Gurukul. Swamiji breathed his last on 3 Sept, 1968. This college came into existence in his sweet memory. This college is being run by Arya Vidya Parishad, Panjab (Registered) through Local Managing Committee. The college is affiliated to and aided by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
