Swahid Maniram Devan College

Swahid Maniram Devan (SMD) College, situated at Charing, in Sivasagar of Assam, is an aided co-educational institute. The college was established in 1964, after the famous freedom fighter Maniram Dewan, who had laid down his life while fighting for India's independence. The college is well-equipped with all necessary facilities within a nice and quiet campus. SMD College is affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under several acts. The college offers several undergraduate courses in Arts subjects. Besides, the college runs higher secondary courses in Arts subjects, along with several short-term professional programs.
