St. Xavier?s College, affiliated to the University of Kerala is established and maintained by the Jesuits of Kerala Province. At its inception in 1964, it was a Junior College for boys and was part of the Loyola Institutions at Sreekariyam. In 1965 the College was shifted to the present site, about 4 kilometers west of Kazhakuttom. It was upgraded and made co-educational in 1977. It was raised to a Post Graduate College in 2005. It imparts quality education in Commerce, Arts and Sciences, to boys and girls, especially of the marginalized communities, making them intellectually alert, spiritually firm, morally sound, religiously tolerant and socially committed men and women.
