St Stephens College of Education for Women

St.Stephen's College of Education for women which was started in the year 2006 in committed to serve the community particularly in the field of education through teacher education programmes. It is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education and affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University,Chennai. It is run by St.Stephens Educational Trust, Madurai-7. The College Campus is named as Hosanna Mount. It is situated at 11 Km from Madurai city in the Madurai-New Natham road and it is surrounded by beautiful hills. It is Committed to equip, motivate, and encourage the women candidates especially from rural background. Moreover it is glad to inform that it serves the visually/physically challenged students. About 12 visually/physically challenged girl students have got B.Ed degrees from our institution and they are serving Community at various levels. 2010-2011 is the 5th Batch of our institution and at present we have 100 students as intake for every year. We have excellent academic records .We are planning to have additional intake, M.Ed, M.Phil and research programmes. Apart from this Job oriented Diploma Courses also will be available in the near future.
