St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara is located in Gregorios Mount, a scenic and serene site of Pulamon in Kottarakara, Kerala State. The college was founded in 1964 as a junior college by His Grace Mathews Mar Coorilos, the Bishop of Kollam Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Church, who later became His Holiness Moren Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, the Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan. The college takes the name from Saint Gregorios of Parumala, who is our patron Saint and first Canonised Saint of Orthodox Church. The affiliation of the college is with the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram and the Sponsoring Agency is the Community of St. George, Bethlehem Ashram, Chengamanadu, Kottarakara. The foundation stone of the College was laid by His Grace Thoma Mar Dionysius, the then metropolitan of Niranam Diocese at 10 am on Monday 22nd June 1964 and declared open on Monday 6th July 1964 by the Late Lamented His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Ougen I.
