With the introduction of free and compulsory primary education, the demand for good High School Physical Education Training Institutions has gained momentum and with a view to meet this demand S T J Education Society has opened many Physical Education Training Institute one of which is Sri Taralabalu Jagadguru College of Physical Education, Davangere, started in the year 2006-07. The National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Southern Regional Office, Bangalore, which is the controlling authority, has granted permission and Kuvempu University BR Project, Shimoga Dist conducts the examinations.
