Sri Chundi Ranganayakulu Engineering College popularly known as SCREC, was established in the year 1999. It is the flagship institute among the various educational institutions started by the well known philanthropist Sri Chundi Ranganayakulu whose primary objective is to establish and manage a variety of educational Institutions with high quality and to produce quality human resources for the service of the society. The College is situated in a spacious 26 acres of land with a built up area of 18006 Sq.m. It has five branches in its undergraduate program, i.e., E.E.E., M.E., E.C.E. C.S.E. and Civil along with the Post Graduate MBA, MCA and MTECH courses. All departments are teamed with well-qualified and experienced teaching staff as per the norms of A.I.C.T.E. All the technical staff are well qualified and dedicated. The library has more than 30,000 books for issue and reference purposes. A large number of National & International Journals are continuously procured. This journals help the staff in their research work and the students in their project work and for developing insight into technical knowledge. Library is staffed with a qualified Librarian having M.LISc. and sufficient supporting staff members. The Laboratories of Mechanical Engineering Department such as Fuels and Lubricants Laboratory, Production Technology Laboratory, Mechanics of Solids Laboratory, Thermal Engineering Laboratory, Fuel Mechanics and Metallurgy Laboratory, CAD-CAM Laboratory with CNC Lathe machine are established and equipped as per the norms of J.N.T.U. Similarly the Electrical Engineering Department consists of Electrical Machines Laboratory, Electrical Measurements Laboratory, Power Electronics Laboratory, Control Systems Laboratory and Simulation of Electrical Systems Laboratory. It also contains Software like Multisim - 2001, Educational version containing 5000 Electrical Components. The available software is much more useful for the students of Final year who are doing project work.
