Sonada Degree College

Situated in Sonada, Darjeeling, less than one km from Sonada Railway Station, SONADA DEGREE COLLEGE is a co-educational Degree College, established in the year 1985. It is a Government established college, under the pay packet system and other financial assistance from the Government of West Bengal. The College campus is spread over approximately four acres of land in an ideal natural environmental location and has a very congenial atmosphere for studies, sports and other co-curricular activities. The college has a permanent affiliation with the University of North Bengal, Raja Rammohanpur, P.O. North Bengal University. The University Grants Commission (U.G.C), Govt. of India, New Delhi has enlisted this college under section 2 (F) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Thus, this college is eligible to receive financial and other assistance from the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India and other Central Govt. organizations, in addition to the Govt. of West Bengal. The College imparts higher education, manely Bachelor degrees in both General and Honours courses under North Bengal University.
