Sitananda College

Sitananda College owes its origin to a widespread intellectual movement that swept across Bengal immediately after the independence and was felt even in the remotest comers of the state. As it happened people of almost all the sections of this remote comer of West Bengal felt the necessity of an institution of higher education that would cater to the needs of the thousands of students passing out of the schools of the locality. The intellectuals came forward to give a concrete shape to the hopes and aspirations of the common people but the latter were not to be left behind in terms of material contribution to the realization of a general hope.
