The Mandradiar family, popularly known as Palayakottai Pattakkarar family, which is notable for its commercial and philanthropic activities, is revered by one and all throughout Erode District of Tamilnadu for generations together The present Mandradiar family, in its quest for entering new arenas of social activities to serve the public, decided to start educational institutions in 2002 and constituted Shivparvathi Mandradiar Educational Trust This trust established Shivparvathi Mandradiar Teacher Training Institute (DTE) and Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education (BEd) an they started functioning from the academic year 2004-05, which cater to the needs of the prospective candidates to get DTE and BEd Degree respectively and serve the general public The Shivparvathi Mandradiar Teacher Training Institute had obtained permission from the NCTE to start the DTE course as per the order of the NCTE F TN / 692 / SRO / NCTE / 2003-04 / 1386 dated 25204 and also obtained "No Objection Certificate" from the Govt of Tamilnadu as per its School Education Department Letter No 18925 / UI / 2003-04 dated 1362003 The NCTE granted its approval for starting the Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education in their order FTN / SEC / SRO / NCTE / 2004-05 / 6983 dated 07092004 - with an intake of 100 students The College had obtained "No Objection Certifcate" from the Tamilnadu Govt Order GO (MS) No56 Dt 18022005 The College has been affiliated to Bharathiar University - Coimbatore - 641046 as per No12462 / A1 /2004 Dt180305 of the University Both the institutions are located at Palayakottai, 30 kmssouth from Erode and 15 kms north from Kangayam, on Erode-Kangayam Main Road They cover an area of more than 8 acres The college is endowed with excellent infrastructure and a dedicated team of staff to cater to the needs of the student community The serene beauty of the locality of the institutions may lure anyone to join and the atmosphere is very much conducive for learning Seperative hostels for men and women are available The Shivparvathi Mandradiar College of Education is offering the following optional subjects for its BEd Degree Course Optional 1 : 1Special Tamil, 2Special English, 3Mathematics, 4Physical Sciences, 5Biological Sciences and 6History Optional 2 : 1General Tamil and 2General English Electives : Environmental Education
