SARDAR BHAGAT SINGH Government Post Graduate College,Rudrapur (U.S. Nagar) Uttarakhand was established as a Government Under-Graduate College and it was upgraded as a post-graduate college in 1978. It is a government funded college affiliated to Kumaun University, Naintal.It got UGC recognition under section 2(F) in 1976 and under section 12(B) in 1977. The College has 35 acres of land. The College offers courses in all the three faculties i.e. Arts, Science and Commerce. In the Faculty of Arts, it offers both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Courses in Hindi, English, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Geography and History; under-graduate courses in Sanskrit and Psychology. In the Faculty of Science, the institution offers courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Botany and Zoology at the Under-Graduate level. It offers both Under-Graduate and Post-graduate Courses in Commerce faculty. The College also runs three Vocational Courses in B.B.A., Advertising, Sales Promotion, Sales Management and Eco-Tourism. B.Ed. (Self Finance) is being run from 2008-09. Some of the Senior Faculty Members are also serving as research guides. The College has a total number of 27 permanent teachers and 6 visiting teachers. The number of students in our college is quite impressive. The number of students is 6700. The number of female students is quite high.They are more than half of the total strength of the College. The College has a Central Library, Laboratories in Science and Arts subjects,Broad Band Internet connectivity, three Computer Labs, two Seminar Halls,one Conference room and one auditorium.Besides this, Games & Sports facilities along with NSS and NCC units, boys hostel and vehicle parking shed are the main attractions of this college which increases the importance of this college.
