Ramkrishna Nagar College

Ramkrishna Nagar College is located in the lap of nature, which is one of the premier colleges in Barak Valley (Assam). It is in a sub-urban area surrounded by rural areas covering the remotest villages of East Karimganj District. Ramkrishna Nagar is a small council situated around 60 Kms. away from the district headquarter Karimganj (Assam, India). The topography of the area comprises of villages and hills. The small cliffs of the hills add beauty to the place. The township is not thickly populated and the major part of the population over here belongs to Bengali Community. Agriculture is the main occupation of the people here and around. Ramkrishna Nagar College, the only place of Higher Education in the neighbouring area came into existence on 12th January, 1964. Students of around 20 Kms. away from this place study here seeking their bright future. Since last fifty years, it has remained the hub of higher education.
