Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Government College came into being in 1994 as an institution of higher learning at Joginder Nagar, a sub-division of Mandi District in Himachal Pradesh surrounded by the green foliage of several hues and the terraced fields, an ideal pollution-free atmosphere, this institution offers Graduation Courses in Arts, Commerce and Science (both Medical and Non-Medical) and Post Graduation in English and Economics.The college has Administrative Block, Arts Block and Science Block. There are two Computer Labs; one established by college itself and the other by the Department of Information and Technology, H.P. Govt. The College has thirty sanctioned posts of teachers in various subjects along with requisite ministerial and technical staff. Well-equipped laboratories update library with computerised functioning and adequate reading room space, the sports infrastructure for different games and a playground of the Education Department with a stadium are some of the highlights. Students can enroll as cadets under NCC or as volunteers under National Services Scheme. There is Common Room facility for girls. Committed to bring about all round development of the alumni, all the wings of administration focus on motivating the students to discover their talent in extra-curricular activities. The student from this college have top positions in cultural events at H.P. University Youth Festival competition and have represented HPU in the various games like Football, Weight lifting, Table tennis, Volleyball, Chess, Handball, Basketball etc. In H.P. Universicy inter college Cross Country competition our college was winner in men section and runners up in women section. The college has been awarded ‘B’ level by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. The college is covered under 2F and 12F with the U.G.C. The motto of the college is ‘ASTO MA SADGAMAYA’.
