In exercise of the powers conferred by section 38 of the Andhra Pradesh Government Medical and Dental Instituion converting them into Semi-Autonomous Institution under the Act No.31 of 2007, published in Andhra Pradesh Gazette vide reference No.26 January 23,2008. The Government have issued orders for construction of new Medical College and Hospital viz.,Rajiv Gandhi Insttue of Medical Sciences (RIMS).Ongole with an estimated cost of Rs.25 crores Sanctioned in G.O.Ms.No.210 HM&FW (E1)Dept., Dated 27-05-2007. G.O.Ms.No.210 HM&FW (E1)Dept., Dated 27-05-2007.accorded administrative sanction for Rs.125 crores for construction of new Medical College and Hospital at Ongole, Prakasam District viz.,Rajiv Gandhi Insttue of Medical Sciences (RIMS).Ongole The District Collector & Magistrate has identified and handed over the site to an extent of 37.46 acres in survey No.68 of Pelluru Village,Ongole Mandal pertaining to Nagarjuna Sagar Project in which Staff Quarters & Offices of Irrigation Departments were existing.
