Punitha valanar college of Education was established in the year 2008 by Rt.Rev.Antony Pappusamy, Bishop of Dindigul Diocese, considering the need for a college of Education which will cater to the professional needs of the poor aspiring graduates by providing quality teacher education and to promote them to achieve excellence in teaching. It develops over all personality of the rural students to have the greatest impact n social welfare through education. Every student coming out of this college will be a catalyst of social change through peaceful and constructive methods. Punitha Valanar College of Education got recognition from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Southern Regional Committee, Bangalore in August 2008 for running B.Ed. course. Now the college is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) Chennai.
