Established in 1924 with one trained American nurse and ten Indian trainees, the Philadelphia Hospitals School of Nursing is a pioneering institute of medical training in India. The first batch of nurses 91 years ago - when medical care for women was almost unheard of except for the traditional mid-wives - were trained in General nursing, Anatomy, Physiology and Mid-wifery. By the 1950 the School had attained its reputation as one of the best in the the country.
