Peniel Rural College of Education

In the year 1991 motivated by a deep concern for the rural population, the Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Centre (VTRC) under its auspices planted a seed establishing Peniel School for the rural children around the Vemparali area. Sixteen years down the road in the year 2007, ?Peniel Rural College of Education? commenced with goals to help the rural youth by preparing them for a service oriented livelihood. The word ?Peniel? is a biblical name meaning ?Face of God?. It stands for love, service and devotion. The college is devoted to providing ample training for it's students that they may take up their respective profession's as teachers. This program is catered to enrich the first generation graduates, especially women. That they may reach out and educate the rural masses spreading fragrance of education. Just as buds proliferate forming new buds which then bloom into beautiful flowers. Peniel Rural College of Education was affiliated to the Madurai Kamaraj University during 2007-2008. Since 2008-2009 it has been affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. The College is located at the Peniel Gardens on the Madurai ? Natham Highway in a calm and pristine rural area.
