Orissa Engineering College as the first private engineering college is the brain child and the dream come true of Late Kamini Kanta Patnaik. It was also the vision of Late Sudhanshu Mohan Patnaik, a senior IAS officer of Karnataka cadre. He brought to pass, of what we see today as one of the foremost technical institutions not only in the state but also across the entire eastern India.
