Muslim Arts College

MAC started functioning in Madhavalayam in the year 1982. It was a felt need of the MES in Kannayakumari Distict , to have a College of equal opportunity and access for the Muslim minority. The college was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University and approved by the Government. Later shifted to Jalal Building, Thiruvithancode, and the College witnessed a steady growth. With the establishment of MS University the College got affiliated to this University. The college has by now achieved a steady growth with more than 3000 thousand students and 179 Faculty members and yet another 75 non teaching staff .A very significant breakthrough in the history of the college was the introduction of the new courses in 2000--2001 . Now the college has more than thirty courses and two Research Departments.
