MULKI SUNDER RAM SHETTY COLLEGE, SHIRVA is sponsored by Vidyavardhaka Sangha (Regd.), Shirva, Udupi District and it is affiliated to Mangalore University. The college was founded with the aim of meeting the growing demand for University Education in this part of the rural region of Udupi Taluk & Dist. in the year 1980. Vidyavardhaka Sangha, the Society which has sponsored the College has always aimed at spreading education among the rural people who are the backbone of the country and has always believed that the salvation of any country depends directly on education. Hence its name ?Vidyavardhaka Sangha.? Rendering service and maintaining quality are the religion of the promoters of the Sangha and their guiding principle is the adage, ?when wealth is lost nothing is lost, when health is lost something is lost, when character is lost everything is lost?. The New College Building with all facilities was inaugurated by His Holiness Sri Sri Vibudhesha Tirtha Swamiji of Admar Mutt at the function held on the tenth day of March 1990 under the presidentship of Sri K. Amarnath Shetty, Ex-Minister, Govt. of Karnataka. Perment Affiliation has been granted to the College by the Mangalore University and the institution is recognised by the U.G.C., New Delhi and included in the list of 2(F) and 12(b) of the U.G.C.Act.
