It was way back, about 120 years ago, in 1892, that the Founder of the long saga of Seth Jai Parkash Mukand Lal Institutions of Knowledge and Service, Mukand Lal, was born in a small, sleepy non-descript village Radaur, now in District Yamuna Nagar,State of Haryana. He started his career as the most ordinary person in search of a job to make his both ends meet. But with an inborn commercial instinct, visionary foresight and hard physical struggle, he turned his life into a fabulous and exemplary 'rags to riches' story. He attained 'Midas Touch' in Lahore where he turned scrap into auriferous commodity. To be rich is not so important as to be kind, noble and compassionate. Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, with whom he used to spend a lot of time was so much touched by his disposition, especially his humility that he often fondly addressed him 'Mera Pagla Bhagat'. Guided by his inner urge, he turned to his roots and started establishing educational and service Institutions in Radaur, Yamuna Nagar and Ghaziabad. He was almost illiterate, yet he founded educational institutes and nursed the dream of setting up a University at Yamuna Nagar. Before breathing his last in 1952, he passed over the philanthropic baton to his son Jai Parkash, who was a gentle soul with heroic disposition to donate and serve. Seth Jai Parkash established as many as 12 Institutions but 'none of them in his own name'. Accordingly, 'If I start opening colleges and hospitals in my own name, there will be hardly anything left for my children to do with zeal and enthusiasm'. Such was the selfless spirit and zealous fervour of this great personallity. He was a great philanthropist and humanist in the real sense of the word.

College is nice in terms of faculty as well as infrastructure but placements not good enough.
