Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education

Mata Sahib Kaur Khalsa Girls College of Education was established by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee through the resolution No- 764 on 29-10-03. Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee (S.G.P.C) Amritsar, was created by an act of parliament in 1925. It is a religious body in which Sikh Shrines/ Gurudwaras and various other institutions (including educational institutions) are managed by democratically elected representatives of sikhs according to the act. The executive committee of SGPC is the supreme executive body. The Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee, Amritsar felt concerned about meager opportunities of higher education especially for girls and keeping this noble cause in view, it is decided to open a Girls, College of Education at Patiala.
