Markham College of Commerce

Markham College of Commerce is the only college in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand providing a specialized education in commerce. The college was established in late 1970s. It was founded by Shiv Dayal Singh and named after ex-principal Sir Markham Sahab . The college has a very scenic campus. College now has almost all streams under science and Arts as well. But that has never compromised on the quality commerce education. It was started to cater higher education for the intellectuals and the social workers of tribally backward area. The college was taken over as a constituent unit of Ranchi University in 1986. It is now a constituent of Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribag. The college was shifted to the present campus 1979 and the renovation of the existing, as well as the construction of new building was taken up in earnest, Ranchi University granted affiliation to the college up to degree level from the 1979 session in Arts and Commerce faculties.
