Mahatma Gandhi Post Graduate College

Mahatma Gandhi P.G. College, Gorakhpur an exclusive science college of eastern U.P. was established in 1969 with subjects Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Zoology up to undergraduate level under the National Educational Society, Gorakhpur. Considering the importance of Science education, the visionary managing committee started Post-Graduate Courses in Chemistry and Zoology in the session 1992-93. Later on, in 2005-06 two subjects Computer Application and Industrial Chemistry were introduced for undergraduate students under self finance scheme. With the permission of State Govt. and University M.Sc. classes in Physics and Mathematics from the session 2008-09. U.G.C. has given financial support for starting ?Add-on-Course in Computer Technology? from the session 2007-08 to provide Certificate, Diploma and Advance Diploma courses. The college has established a well equipped Bio-technology and Molecular Biology centre. The centre organizes training programs for students of Undergraduate, Post-Graduate and Research. To meet challenges of the modern day world and to achieve academic benefits, the college provides its students with the best infrastructures possible in the form of Laboratories equipped with modern instrumental, internet facility, well established central and departmental Library, reading rooms and audio- visual facilities. Sports and Games and Cultural activities are also on priority. The teaching work is perform through ultra modern teaching aids by the qualifies and experienced teaching staff. Internal assessment and evaluation is constructed periodically to keeps the students up-to- date in their subjects. Parent teachers association is then to involve the guardian in the development of their wards. Expert from our country and abroad are invited every year to deliver lectures in different subjects. The State Govt. has provided our college the facility of On-line distant- learning education.
