MA Chidambaram College of Nursing

M.A.Chidambaram College of Nursing was founded by the illustrious duo Dr.Sanjeevi and Dr.M.A.Chidambaram with an intense desire to provide education and the required training in health care and patient care including community health services to the less privileged sections of the society especially the rural poor. Dr.Sanjeevi founded the Voluntary Health Services Hospital in July 1958 after he retired from Government Services. This grew to be 450 bedded Hospital over the years. Community Health Care was Dr.Sanjeevi?s passion and he was ably supported in his venture by Dr.M.A. Chidambaram who provided financial and management support to the Community Health Services wing of the Hospital by founding the M A Chidambaram Institute of Community Health .Later on this was merged with Voluntary Health Services. The funding and management of the College was taken over by MAC (Educational) Foundation in 1991 as part of the Group?s CSR activities.
