Kesarwani College was founded by M. P. Kesarwani Shiksha Samiti in July 1964. It is completing it?s fifty years of operation in July 2014. The College was started with a view to support the extension of education to people who are economically weak and having deficient educational back ground. Since its start College has grown many fold in terms of in-take of students and addition of degree programmes & courses as well as increase in academic and office staff. As on today, alongwith general students, college caters the educational needs of pupil who are: a) Blind & Handicapped. b) Belonging to the schedule caste / Schedule tribes. c) Women whose education & skill have been ignored for centuries. During the last fifty years college has faced many challenges successfully and has produced able citizens who are working in all fields of nation building. Students of this college have brought laurels in areas of sports, athletics, education and many have successfully cleared PSC/UPSC examinations. ?Kesarwani Mahividyalaya, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Pin-482002 was started as a private institution in the year 1964. In, 1972 government of M. P. started financial grant to this institution. The college has made many progresses in the various fields of academics and infrastructure developments. College started with bare minimum physical facilities & manpower. It has accomplished many mile-stones in academic areas and in development of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Infrastructural facilities were periodically up-dated as per requirement. In, order to achieve standard of higher efficiency, accountability and quality in all spheres of educational activities, this college not only proposes to undergo the process of assessment and accreditation by the NAAC but also has planned out proposals for the development / achievement of; - Developed laboratories with all modern standards, - Spacious central computer center with internet facility, - Computerization of central library with internet facilities, - Girls common room, - Canteen, - Modern audio-visual system for the auditorium, - Computers with internet facilities to all of the teaching departments, - Acquisition of books, reference books, journals and reviews and - Spacious laboratories for research work, - Develop of center of excellence in education & sociology. College is receiving financial grant from UGC since 1972, and college is recognized under Section 2F and 12B. The college premises have commerce, arts and education department. College has well-furnished students common room and an auditorium. The carpet area of college building is of about 25000 sq. ft. and it is housed on a plot area of 13750 sq. ft. The building and the plot are owned by the foundation, Society. The lease of plot has been renewed by Jabalpur Municipal Corporation till 2038. Building is located in heart of Jabalpur city. The college is located in the urban area of the district head quarter and is 2 Km away from Collector?s office as well as from M. P. High Court. Various scholarships are being given to the students belonging to schedule caste, schedule tribe and other backward caste categories who dwell below the poverty line. From the beginning, this college have been serving the courses of education in blind and handicapped students 5 of them blind students admitted in this college in early 1990s where awarded scholarship. In 1996 One blind student Mod. Iqbal Khan even topped the University in P. G. Examination student of this college have been always brought Lawrence in University examination. One students of this college even participated Athletic Meet held in Australia. From the beginning, maximum students achieved highest marks in university and topped.
